Almost every background in the game is a real photograph from our trip in 2025.

A Nordic-noir photography, exploration and mystery adventure

Murder in the Arctic Circle

August in northern Norway. The light barely fades, the fjords are perfectly still, and someone here was killed.

A pretty place to hide a crime

Red fishing cabins, mirror-calm water, mountains rising straight out of the sea. Nothing about it looks dangerous, and that is the problem.

Murder in the Arctic Circle is a point-and-click photography, exploration and mystery adventure. Five friends came to Norway. One of them is dead. The twist is the setting: you walk through real photographs of Norway, taken on location.

The light that won’t leave

In August the northern evening is long and slow. The sun skims the horizon, the sky turns amber, then blue, and the night never gets truly dark. Drag the clock and watch the same place change.

How you solve it

Real photographs

Almost every scene is a real photograph of a real place. You are exploring Norway, not a painting of it.

Question every suspect

Ask about alibis, secrets and each other. People tell different versions of the same night.

Collect and connect evidence

Find clues, check them against testimony, and build the case piece by piece.

Puzzles along the way

Classic adventure puzzles that open doors, drawers and conversations.

Accuse when you’re ready

Name the culprit. If you’re wrong, you’ll know, and you can look again.

Built with Unity, Adventure Creator and Turbo Play

A solo project by a developer who loves the genre.

About Michael

I’ve loved adventure games since 1990. I’m a low-level C++ developer for audio, image and video, not a painter, so for this game I did what I know how to do: I travelled to Norway and photographed it.

Almost every background you see was taken on location, in the same August light you play in. Unity, Adventure Creator and Turbo Play turn those photographs into a mystery you can walk through.
